How do I disable the auto playing of true crime documentaries when I turn the box on? This content is not appropriate for my 7 year old daughter and I'm not interested in it personally.

The 360 should start on the last channel watched when first turn on, if you were watching BBC1 when you switched off that should be the channel that comes on when you switch on.
If you have a profile set to start when the box is turned on that could be the cause if true crime is in the profile.
