Sky Sports+ freezing

Hi

When watching tennis in sky sports+ on 360, screen keeps freezing about every 5 mins for about 10-15 seconds,  very frustrating when trying to watch sport+ (not live, I go and find other matches using red button).  It works fine on my phone, strange, 360 is wired and phone is using wifi.

Any ideas?

  • I have this problem too.  Have found it on two or three football games this week on Sky +.  HD and UHD Chanel’s ok.  Connection is via Ethernet  and broadband 1 gb. I have a V6 box upgraded to 360.

      Much the same on Sky Sports +.  Sky Sports UHD is a better picture than on TiVo but tends to pixilate.

        After getting frustrated over the weekend with this I spoke to Virgin this morning.  It seems they are blaming Sky for the problems so let’s hope they are sorting it out between them soon. They have offered to remove the surcharge for Sky Sports UHD if it is not sorted in three weeks and recommend I watch in HD!

  • Streamed Arsenal v PSG on Amazon Prime yesterday via 360 box with no problems whatsoever.  The issue that I and others are reporting is clearly down to Sky or Virgin or both.  Please sort it out one of you.

      Thanks for coming back to us on this one again. 

      Checking here, all the levels on your box are where they need to be. Same with the hub connection - that's all good too so we can't see a technical reason for why this is happening. 

      Do you find the issue happening on both your boxes or is this only happening on the one?

  • I only have the one box connected.  Your engineer disconnected the other one some years ago as he believed it was causing the pixilation occurring at that time on the main box.

  • I have been away for a few days and have used the hotels WiFi at 120 mbps compared to 1gb at home on Ethernet.  I have viewed Sky Sports + at the hotel on my IPad with no problem whatsoever.  It looks like a problem either with my Virgin 360 box, my Virgin type 4 router, or the Virgin delivery system.  When I am back home I will see if I can get an engineer down and/or replacement kit.

        Spoke to Virgin and they have removed Sky Sports UHD from my package and reduced the price accordingly. They insisted on a months notice which seems ridiculous as the service is not working and I only have 2 months left on the contract but I am too fed up to argue.  It seems Sky Sports + still have problems but I can watch OK on my tablet via Sky Sports app. And maybe project from the IPad to my smart TV?

  • Sky Sports + totally failed on Wednesday evening so that I couldn't watch the second half of Manchester United versus Leicester City. Tried to get in several times but got an error message.

      Hi rufusoculus,

      Did you exit the game on Wednesday and then try to get back in using the red button or did you get kicked out, I had seen the posts about the problems so left it on over half time.

        Yes. Tried several times and eventually gave up. Got the same error message every time.
