If you close your account for any reason you have to send all the equipment back so you will lose the recordings.

I'm almost certain you will lose your recordings even if they are still on the box as the metdata and other information to access them are held on a server and are probably wiped out when your new account is created.

Hey Wilfred1,
Welcome back to the Community, and thanks for taking the time to post. If you take the old equipment with you to your new property. The recordings should remain on the box.
Kind Regards,
Steven_L
Make sure you watch any unwatched before you move because even though the recordings are linked to the box I think Roger's advice might be correct. If you move and don't lose the recordings comeback and update this thread for future reference for other people.

I moved in April of this year, within the same town,. Although a new account was created due to change of address, all detail remained the same - landline, TV and broadband. I simply plugged existing equipment into the new property, all recordings were retained.

The key thing is that you are still connected to the same CMTS. I think if you'd moved further away to be served by a different CMTS then VM would reprovision your TV service and the servers see the box as “new” and its recordings would become inaccessible.

Update. Everything moved smoothly however all recording were lost.I also had to take a stream box instead of a 2nd 360 box which is not really a problem as the remaining 360 box has ample space for recordings

Thanks for coming back to us, Wilfred1 and sorry that your recordings were lost, we'll feed this back to the team as I was advised that as long as you kept the same box, your recordings would be safe to move over, so once again, apologies for that not happening. Additionally, if you have any issues or questions now or in the future, please don't hesitate to let us know here, and we'll be happy to assist you.
Kind Regards,
