Recordings deleted AGAIN!!

Can someone explain why every couple of weeks I seem to be having all my recorded programmes deleted overnight?

I assumed this was happening because of some form of upgrade being done on my box but if that’s the case it’s ridiculous & now I’m more than a little annoyed about it happening once again!

This is the 3rd time already in 2025 & it happened numerous times last year as well & with my contract being up in a few months I’m already seriously considering getting rid of the service & going elsewhere!

Surely this isn’t normal?

I don't have VM TV, but I have read reports on here about some of the conversions from the V6 to 360 software can cause those symptoms?  It may be a new 360 master box is needed?

  • If the 360 is deleting your recordings and planned recordings it's a sign that the box is faulty, especially if it's done it more than once. You can either call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone, mobile or landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault, or wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

When phoning choose the option to report a fault, then ignore all the options offered and  hopefully you should then be placed into a queue to speak to someone.

You could also try a factory reset of the 360, and if you haven't got any recordings you might as well go for the format disk option and if or 'when' the box deletes everything again then phone Virgin.

    They might suggest you set the Auto delete option to off, it probably already is and shouldn't affect planned recordings but you can check by doing the following;

Press Home > Recordings > Recorded > View All > Manage Storage > Enter your pin > Auto delete when space needed > Set to Off.

      Hello NickTipps,

Welcome back to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your TV box and recordings being deleted at the moment, this shouldn't be happening. Has this been happening since you upgraded to the 360 box? As roy247 suggested your recordings could be set to auto delete, please could you try what Roy suggested to see if the settings are the reason for this happening?

      Kind Regards,

      Steven_L

Technically I haven’t upgraded my box, I’ve had the same one since I joined Virgin about 3 years ago.

I should never have an issue with storage space as everything is deleted once I’ve watched & everything tends to get watched within a day or two apart from maybe a film or two.

        Thanks for replying.

Sorry for the late reply, only just got notification about any replies.

The thing being, with regards to my recorded stuff I always delete once I’ve watched & only end up with 2 or 3 films left to watch, so there should never be an issue with storage space on my system.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Thanks for coming back to us NickTipps. Have you been able to check the Auto Delete settings that roy247 suggested?
