Playback bug ?
This happens quite regularly.
I pause live viewing of a program then try to resume a few minutes later.
The playback jumps back to the start of the viewing instead of continuing from where it was paused.

Can you rewind live TV?
Ooops. Sorry I have not described the problem properly.
It occurs when I try to resume by forwarding through the program
i.e. using the button which moves 30 seconds on.Whicvh channels are you viewing?
I've not kept a record for which channels the fault occurs but from memory certainly the football channels on Sky or TNT
See if other live channels like BBC behave normally and, if so, it’s specific to Sky/TNT feeds. See also whether it's a skip problem by resuming playback directly after pause and then using fast‑forward rather than skip 30 seconds.
I have noticed that when the skip fails the fast forward works fine.

Do you have the same issue on other boxes, or do you just have one box? Also, have you tried rebooting your TV box since the issues started?

It happens on my main box, I've not experienced this yet on the minibox.
There have been several reboots since I first noticed the problem.
It is not resolved.
I can't reproduce/check the problem as it occurs infrequently.

Thanks for confirming the issue is still happening.
If pausing live TV and then trying to fast‑forward causes the playback to jump right back to the start, it usually means the box isn’t buffering the live program correctly. A few things you can try that often fix this:
- Restart the TV box
A full reboot (not just standby) refreshes the live buffer.
Just switch it off at the mains for 30 seconds, then power it back on. - Check how long the pause has been active
If the buffer fills up or resets. For example after a longer pause, the box may skip back to the start instead of moving forward. - Try resuming normally before using the 30‑second skip
Press Play first, then use the skip button. If the buffer is working, it should move exactly as expected. - Make sure the box has a good network connection
If you're on a device that relies on broadband for live rewind, any brief drop in connection can cause the buffer to restart.
If you’re still seeing the problem after trying these steps, let us know. The live buffer may not be working as it should, and we can look into running remote checks or arranging a technician if needed.
