Microphone button not responding

9 times out of 10, when I press the button to use the mic to give instructions, it doesn't respond to the press.

I tried to get one but the communication via webchat is almost impossible.

Can someone organise a replacement remote control for me please (360 remote)?

  • You need to make sure that you keep the voice button pressed down whilst giving it instructions.

    Have  you tried new batteries?

Also try pairing the remote again by holding  down the 'Live TV' (the one on the right hand side directly below the red power/standby button) and '0' button together for around 10/15 seconds. The Standby button should then start to flash followed by an onscreen message displaying 'Pairing successful - this remote will only work with this Virgin 360 box'.

If that fails you can also try the following:-
Put the box into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing the Standby/On button on the front of the 360 box for 10 seconds.  Then using the remote control, press and hold the 'Live TV' button and the '0' button together for 10/15 seconds. And fingers crossed hopefully a  message should appear on the screen confirming that pairing was successful.

You should be able to order a replacement remote control online

  • You will probably be asked this question before a remote is sent out, are you holding down the voice control key when saying what you want the box to do before releasing the key.

  • Thank you both, I'll try the suggestions and if no luck, will use the link.

Good luck with the link for ordering a new remote, lots of people have got nowhere with it in the past, maybe it's been fixed. 🤞

  • I occasionally experience similar - the mic graphic appears on screen for a split second but nothing else happens. Switching the box off and on at the mains resolves it.
