LG TV magic eye 360 box

Firstly I know this is a 3rd party device, I had successfully set up that the lg remote fully controlled the the 360 box, I unplugged the HDMI lead and have lost that ability, the solution is on here but cannot find it again. Despite the the 360 box been an arris unit. The device was recognised as a Pace unit. I can get as far as the universal controller settings on the TV, reject the auto set up and eventually it's asks for a model number, all of the options will only allow volume control and on off functions. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi PhilipF

Your thread title says LG magic eye.   Do you mean LG smart remote/ LG Magic remote?.

I have an LG C2 TV  with the LG smart remote and have it working with my TV and 360.  It's a PITA to set it up, and can sometimes around 30 or 40 attempts before it's recognised.

Around a month ago LG updated the software version of my TV and the LG smart remote stopped working with the TV.  I eventually got it working again by entering in Ziggo as the set top box.  In the past it had worked by using Ziggo Mediabox Next, and also by entering Virgin.  This last time it took a number of TV reboots and removal of HDMI cables before restarting befoe I could get it to recognise the 360 (Ziggo).

You can use some third party remotes such as the OneForAll URC7125 - use the SimpleSet setup process and choose Ziggo as the manufacturer.

There's also the OneForAll1240 - if you enter code 1582, It's not as expensive as the URC7125 and has 4 selects for tv/sat/amp/dvd.  I found I needed direct line of sight to set up the 1240 (I haven't got the 7125)

Many thanks, I do indeed mean the  LG Magic remote, in fairness it took several goes to set it up so will persevere. There has been a n update recently as well. When I get to the screen it only offers an option to add a model number, which offers an option that doesn't work. I cannot remember how or why Pace worked as the STB originally.

Pace DR7111 used to work with Samsung TV's, along with  Arris DCX960 and DCX960.

When trying to set it up with the 360 on my LG I go to Universal Control Settings. It shows Virgin (North East) and View More. If I click on View More and then Next I am shown a list Set-Top box providers ( Sky, VM and BT)

If I move cursor up I can place it in the Search box then click OK and type in Ziggo and press Enter.

It then brings up another screen with Ziggo highlighted.

There's also the OneForAll1240 - it works with code 1582, It's not as expensive as the 7125 (£12.46 from Argos) and has 4 selects for tv/sat/amp/dvd. I have this one as a back up and it hasn't stopped working despite 360 and LG updates. It does need direct line of sight with the TV and 360 when first setting it up.
