ITVX Fast Forward

hi,

We used to be able to fast forward advertisements on ITVX but not now, any suggestions?

    Have you changed or renewed a package? FF ability is not available in the Mega package.

    ITV is coming into line with other streamers by the use of forced ads to drive subscriptions to their premium tier. So, at a cost of £5.99pm or £59.99pa you get ad-free on demand and a bunch of stuff including BritBox classics and extra films from StudioCanal Presents.

    In addition to 1701-e​ very valid question - can you quantify when "used to" was?

    When were you last able to FF through adverts on ITV-X?

      When I had Maxit package on TiVo I had FF.... It was very handy (there had been a press release about it from VM back in the day). I lost it when switching to 360 and Mega.

      admittedly was at least 12 months ago almost last time u used ITVX also before renewed contract.

    Get yourself a Freeview recorder. Record all the main channels and fast forward through the adverts.

      There's no need to even get a Freeview recorder. The TV360 box allows recording of every subscribed channel.

      Regardless of the reasons for the OP losing FF on ITV-X (and I agree that changing package is the most likely), it's a timely reminder that recording will usually be a better option than relying on streaming/OnDemand.

    yes. but ITVX is not a subscribed channel its an app like iview you cant record within the app another reason a freeview recorder will not work.

    ITVX is quite a different service than ITV's broadcast channels in that although it replicates the live channels, namely ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and ITVBe (recently rebranded as ITV Quiz), it offers a whole lot of other stuff including exclusive FAST channels, seasonal/pop-up FAST channels and BritBox as mentioned before. So, whilst it's definitely a good idea to record the live broadcast channels if you can on your V6 or 360, all the other ITV offerings are streamed via ITVX but with the drawbacks as discussed.
