Hello - noisy Arris boxes!

Hello,

Could someone from Virgin please help? We had Virgin at my property before and had a Humax box for TV. It was quiet as a mouse.

I signed back up recently and got sent a really noisy TV box. It turns out it was an Arris - I requested a replacement but it's still super loud with the fan on all the time and I can hear the constant ticking of the hard drive seeking. It's really distracting and annoying.

To make things worse we waited a week for the second box to arrive and all we were sent was a remote control because someone placed the order incorrectly.

Does anyone know the process of getting specifically a Humax replacement? I've come to the conclusion is must be this variant of the box and I simply can't live another day with the noise!

    I suspect your only solution will be ask any tech who attends nicely... and hope they have a Humax on their van.

    I can't imagine the faults staff have any means of specifying.

    You are taking pot luck with whatever the tech has in their van. It sounds like it's a poorly refurbished box. Arris are now making the new V360 boxes as well, so I would just take whatever replacement is offered.

  • Thanks for your comments. It does appear that this is a known issue with these boxes - and I presume I've been sent two of the older ones. I'm unsure what to try next, ai don't really want to waste everyone's time begging for a new box and getting sent the same old junk.

    Anyone here from VM who can help me, please?

    This is not an inherent fault of the Arris box, I've had one for almost seven years and have no complaint. You just need another replacement box.
