Free tv apps won’t open

Everything is working on my box apart from the free tv apps (itv, channel 4 etc) they just open to a black screen and nothing else happens. I have rebooted the tv box and the broadband router and everything looks fine apart from this. Any ideas?

  • To factory reset go to Settings (the cog at the end of the Home menu) > System > Factory Reset. It's actually misnamed and only a partial system reset and not a complete factory reset. You are given 2 options
    Keep Recordings
    Format Disk
Choose Keep Recordings, which means you won't lose your recordings, and any planned recordings, or series links you've set up. You may have to sign into your apps such as iPlayer, Prime, Netflix and ITVX again.  Also Match frame rate and Standby power consumption may go back to their default settings if you have changed them

All apps require a good network connection, so is the 360 connected to the hub with an Ethernet cable?

It’s connected up and the other apps like Netflix etc work just not the free tv apps that’s what is not making sense

  • Have the free apps ever worked.

You could try a factory reset of the box if you haven't tried already using the keep recordings option.

I see you've had various issues in the past such as <Here>

Do you have any problems with the free apps on your 2nd TV360 set top box?

Have you swapped your TV360 boxes around to see if the issue follows the box, or if the issue is just in the one location?

Is the problem box the one that's connected by ethernet cable or by wifi?   If it's ethernet cable then try a different ethernet cable and/or port on the hub.

If it's wifi are you still using the VM wifi pods?

Yes the apps have worked fine up until this week. The problem previously was with the other box that’s on the WiFi not this one which is cabled.

Im not able to swap the boxes around as I can’t get to the other one

If I factory reset will it wipe my recordings as I have not watched everything and can’t remember

also if it’s connection problems I don’t understand why Netflix etc still work just the normal tv ones that aren’t
