Fast Forward on 360

Is there any way I can fast forward in 15 or 30 min steps on the 360 box as I use to be able to do on my previous box?

  • You can use the voice control say "Forward 15 minutes" you can also go backwards if you say "Back 15 minutes".

    Knows their stuff

Voice control isn't very accessible for those that can't speak for whatever reason.

Gimmicks don't make up for a downgrade in functions.

I don't see the 360 as a downgrade in functions, because I found all the extra bells and whistles on the tivo based  V6 totally unnecessary as I had little or no use for them.  It all depends upon personal preferences and usage.

The 360 is like marmite, some love it and some hate it, akin to android versus ios. I don't like ios in the slightest and much prefer android, however I don't castigate ios in the manner some users denigrate the horizon platform, especially those who have never used it.

I don't find the voice control a gimmick, I find it a very useful function that the tivo boxes lack.

I absolutely agree. Voice control in my opinion has been a complete gimmick since 1995. I don't know why everyone is suddenly so excited about voice control when I should be able to press a button on a remote. Must be a generational thing.

It's sad that the VIPs are the only people defending this abominable TV device when it should be the other way around, they need to be forwarding customer's annoyances with the TV box to VM and defending customers.

This is why VM's TV service has been going downhill, and will continue to go downhill. It's a simple mechanism. I've been studying mechanisms of failing companies for many years.

Fundamentally TV360 is completely different software to TiVo which drives the V6. Calling either an upgrade on the other is equivalent to saying that an Apple to Android conversion (or vice-versa) is also an upgrade. It depends on individual usage as to which is better suited.

      On our wavelength

We were persuaded to move to 360 on the basis that it was an upgrade, so our expectations were set by Virgin

I wouldn't necessarily believe everything you are told by a sales person without following it up with a bit of research.
