Channel failure message

Hi,

I keep getting a message popping up briefly saying Channel Failed. This is whilst watching normal channels such as BBC 1 and has been happening for a few weeks. 

What causes this?

FYI I've had recurring issues with pixellating images for as long as I've had Virgin which us years.

    I would say it's a signal level issue, but if it's intermittent it could well be RF noise ingress into the cable at a weak point. It could also be due to a neighbour making unauthorised alterations to their VM cabling.
