The small print on the email should tell you. If not then ring up. Bear in mind that 360 is different from TiVo and you'll lose your recordings.

It should be in the T&C's on the email unless they have been conveniently left off, if nothing in the email there is possibly a good chance it will be a new 18 month contract. I would take the 'give Virgin a call' advice and ask but there could be a chance the person you speak to doesn't know, they are not always aware of new email offers.

TV360 is a completely different TV platform to V6 and is fundamentally not TiVo. Sky Sports remains fully supported on the V6, and the HD multi-screen (used on Sky Tennis thus far) is being developed for the V6.
SkySports+, whatever additional functionality that provides, will be on TV360-only at launch, but has not been ruled out for V6 subsequently.
Because TV360 is fundamentally different to TiVo/V6, all your recordings & series-links will be lost as part of a migration. That may or may not be a problem to you, but should be aware. It's unlilkely the software conversion should have any impact on your contract term, but the T&Cs of the promotion would be the best place to check

No recontract needed to upgrade from V6 to 360.
Not only is Sky Sports+ not available on the V6, but Disney+, AppleTV+, Paramount+ and more are exclusive to Virgin TV 360. Comms clearly state that recordings will be lost, but much of the content will be available on demand or via apps on the new box.
If you are an fan of a team in the EFL you'll be missing most of your teams games this season if you dont upgrade.

Thank you BlueLou. I’ve been asking about this for weeks and Virgin staff generally haven’t had a clue what I’ve been talking about. So it seems from what you say that (1) Sky Sports Plus EFL coverage will NOT be available on my V6 box and (2) I will get the full functionality (I.e. select from the multiple simultaneous streamed EFL games) if I upgrade to a 360 box. Can you confirm that is definitive and my understanding is correct?

My understanding is that this is a case of 2+2=5
The Sky Sports HD multiscreen used for F1 & tennis is currently exclusive to 360 but is being developed for V6. SkySports+ will be exclusive to 360 at launch for sure. If you're willing to wait to maintain TiVo-functionality with the multiscreen, that's the other side of the argument.
1: I cannot find anywhere the differences between the current HD multiscreen & SkySports+ - there must be some, but all the PR is marketing-focused thus far
2: Whatever the "new" functionality is, will certainly be TV360-exclusive for now. It "may" come to V6 after the HD multiscreen does.

Hi, I've just ordered via the app on my home screen. I've 2x v6 boxes, will I automatically receive 2x new remotes?
- BlueLouVirgin Media Staff
Yes you will. Once you’ve set up the upgrade on the first box the second should start automatically. Just make sure you watch the video (https://www.virginmedia.com/tv360) and follow the instructions on screen and all should be clear.

A reply from a moderator on another post says VM are working on bringing Sky Sports + to the V6 box, but there is no known launch date. So this contradicts the info given here.

HornetUK and japitts - thank you for your help

There is no technical reason to require both boxes to be migrated, but VM quite understandably doesn't want a V6 and a 360 in any premise when it's trying to migrate everything off the TiVo platform.

That's not strictly true.
Multi-room streaming requires all boxes in the same home to be using the same platform - TiVo/V6 & TV360 are fundamentally different. Which is also a circular argument with having one account per home, which can't support multiple TV platforms.
- Roger_GoonerAlessandro Volta
Multi-room streaming does require all boxes to be on the same platform, but for clarity I wasn't referring to that.
On the subject of accounts, you can of course have multiple ones per home.

Jumping on this thread, having pressed the button to 'upgrade' (debatable) but not received remote yet in any case is there a time limit to finally push the button. Would rather have kept V6 but not at the cost of missing out on SkySports+. Pondering now whether to wait till nearer the start of the EFL season in case a solution for V6 is in sight!

If you've requested the conversion to TV360, then it's too late to change your mind.
VM have confirmed on this forum that the HD multiscreen will be coming to V6, there's just no firm date for it.
- Red_WimpDialled in
Well thanks for the answer although not what I wanted to hear. Looks like another reason to leave when my contract is up
- Red_WimpDialled in
This morning I have a message on my box saying "you are receiving this message as you have recently had an issue on your account" - pause, and multi-tuners already unavailable I assume this is part of the conversion to 360 even though I haven't received a remote or initiated the upgrade app
