360 upgrade to get Sky Sports +

So had the email about needing to upgrade to tv360 to get Sky Sports +. Question I have is does this upgrade effect your contract? Does it force you to start a new contract for example?

  • It get's better, now I can't access on demand or set recordings amongst others.  I did want to capture what recordings I had planned for the week ahead before updating but that's gone too.

After the usual rigmarole to speak to someone on faults, they can't help as his system was updating so he couldn't do anything or make any checks at Virgin's end. Notification that the remote has now been despatched, you would have thought that would have come before the update in any normal company.  Ring back in 24 hours I was told, till then basically tough.

Hey Red_Wimp I can see that your Virgin TV 360 remotes should be arriving today.  If you look into the apps section can you see the 360 insteall now app?  It should be in the top left corner.

I think that there is an issue with the service codes on your account, but before we address that I need to know whether your box has the app installed and your remotes have arrived.

It's still true, it's not going to be available at launch of Sky Sports+ and if its coming to V6 then customers will be informed. There are some technical issues with the V6 and the app, however, so if you want to watch Sky Sports+ and get the most of your subscription the best thing to do is upgrade to 360.

        On our wavelength

The message said the old functionality would be available on V6 until a solution was reached - so if we won’t be getting sky sports+ on V6 in any form at launch, the reply I received is not correct!

I would like clarification please. Will I still be able to choose a game using the old functionality ie using the info button on the remote and navigating to my chosen game? Upgrading to the stream based system isn’t what we want to do and we would only do this as an absolutely last resort.

    Very Insightful Person

If someone can say specifically what the differences between the existing Sky Sports HD multiscreen, and Sky Sports+ will be, then they're not being public about it.

Plenty of marketing, precious little detail. You need only look at what Sky Sports tennis multiscreen already delivers, for evidence of what is coming to V6 sometime.
