"Something has gone wrong on our side"

I recently joined virgin broadband and when i went "manage my settings" primarily turn parental control off its comes up with the following, no matter what app i try or if i try on my phone or PC. For note the WIFI was installed on the 17/11/25

At first i thought it was just a one night thing but nearly a week later with no service outages i dont understand ( wifi is working fantastically well in term of speeds)

  • Hi oje2908 👋 welcome to the community forum! Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear about these issues with trying to edit your parental control settings via My VM.

Are you using the App or Desktop version of the site?

Have you tried using an alternative device, and if so - do you get the same error message?

We can then offer further support if needed. Thanks for your patience whilst we run through this troubleshooting with you!🌞

But you are able to access your online account to sign in? It is just when trying to update these settings you get the error?

TBH, Parental control has never really worked well for a while now.  There are many, many threads here with the same issues.  You can, in the meantime, just manually set the DNS on your device to use Google's Public DNS Servers.  They are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4  There are others as well, such as Cloudflare and Quad 9

  • I am experiencing same too and i joined in Nov 2025

Once i try to manage settings. i get the error
