Can't register Virgin Media account

When trying to register for My Virgin Media, I cannot get past the create a password stage. I get the error "Sorry, there was a problem registering that password. Please choose a different one."

I have tried different browsers and deivces, and tried changing the email and password used to log in numerous time, but still can't register. Can someone please advise me on the next steps?

  • I have exact same issue.
    Is there any solution for it yet.
    very strange that on different threads the issue is been discussed for last 2 years, but still no solution.

      I can see we've just replied to your thread here: Sorry, there was a problem registering that password. Please choose a different one

      Please make sure you are only posting once about your issue. If you need to update the thread then just reply to your original thread rather than creating a new one. We understand it's frustrating when something's not right however posting more than once about the same fault makes the boards look busier than what they actually are. It also means we could take longer to reply due to needing to sift through duplicate posts.

      Have a look at the reply on the other thread and stick with that one so we keep all the information in one place.

    I am having the same issue with the account. My direct debit was cancelled and I can not change it without an account. Some help would be much appreciated.

    Having the same issue when trying to register an account. I have the broadband installed a few weeks now. Any time I try setting a password it either times out or refreshes back to the password page leaving me in a loop. 

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Having the same issue when trying to register an account. I tried creating a password a numerous times and it kept coming back to the password page like a loop.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      We're sorry to hear you're also having issues with registering for My VM. This is something we can certainly check for you but in order to do that I'll need to confirm some information with you to pass security. 

      I've sent you a direct message to allow us to do this with you in a private space. If you're using a PC/Laptop then you can just click on the little ✉ at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox. If you're on a mobile/tablet device then instead, click on the little circle icon in the top right then select 'Messages'. 😊

  • I've been having this issue since joining back in October. I've called the helpline and they too had issues. IT have not rang me to assist. 

    Can someone resolve this problem asap?

    I'm having similar issues to this.

    I had virgin media installed last year and I've been trying since day one to register for an account, However it only let's me get to the create a password screen. Once I input a password and click the button to register, it's like the screen is loading but it just freezes. When I try to refresh the page it takes me back to create a password. 

    I have tried using different emails, passwords, Web browsers, devices and used incognito mode to try and register but I'm having no luck. 

    I have also tried contacting the help team via WhatsApp, but months after I sent the message, still no reply. 

    If anyone could help to resolve this issue it would be greatly appreciated!

    I have the same issue as soon as I create my password of which meets the criteria it stays on the in progress screen with the virgin logo animation and won’t go any further 

     

    tried all browsers and still the same issue

      Can you confirm if you're trying this via a mobile or desktop device? Have you cleared the cache for the browser before trying again?
