WiFi Pod making a loud noise, flashing red light

Our WiFi pod has started making a loud whirring noise, like a faulty fan in a pc, and has a rapidly flashing red light. WiFi connection around the house has dropped.

I have tried ringing about this, but the completely inadequate automated system does not have an option for a faulty pod, and it is impossible to get through to an operator, even though it says early on in the call, that "I'll transfer you to a member of our team". I'm sure if my bill was unpaid, I would be speaking to someone pretty sharpish.

Ive just tried using the Virgin Connect app, and it is just as bad as the telephone system.

Can a replacement pod or engineer's visit be arranged please?

As this is a Community Forum, and not a direct line to VM as such, it will take a day or two for a VM Mod to pick this up.  If you need is urgent, it would be best to phone Customer Services directly.

As for the Pod, it may be a faulty fan and it may be overheating?  I would unplug it in any case as a precaution.

  • Hi MikeyMcG64

Thanks for posting and welcome back to the community.

I'll send you a PM now to assist further.

  • Hi. Thanks for your replies . I finally got speaking to someone on another number. The pod is definitely fubar. So they have arranged for a new hub, 3 pods, and a speed upgrade to the top tier. So it was definitely worth my while speaking to someone. It's just a pity vm has gone down the "fully automated" route.
