landline phone dial tone indicates a voicemail has been left

so... i dial 1571

  • The VM forum team will address the voicemail issue but no Ofcom-mandated compensation would be due here (although this doesn't mean VM can't offer a discretionary credit) .

The £107/m seems very high to me. Have you renegotiated your contract with VM in the last 18 months? If not you will be paying full rack rate.

  • Hi alphabetagaga,

Thanks for your post and welcome back to our community.

We're sorry to hear you've been unable to listen to your voicemails.

Voicemail is a free of charge service, so it's not something we can refund.

We do however want to ensure this is resolved for you.

Is the landline otherwise working well? Can you make and receive calls?

When you call 1571 from your Virgin Media landline, the system should guide you through listening to your voicemail messages. Does this happen?

Please ensure you are not accidentally deleting them or turning off the voicemail feature.

Please pop back to us when you can.

  • thanks for replying

the landline is working perfectly apart from the voicemail

dialling 1571 i am guided through as normal but any messages i select to listen to are silent

Thanks for coming back to us alphabetagaga, can you confirm if your handset has its own built in function to accommodate voicemail, and if so, has this been disabled?

We can find that two voicemail functions on a landline service can generate faults for the service we offer to our users.

      Thanks,

      David_Bn

  • i believe it has a built in function which has now been turned off (not sure if that is relevant as i had used the landline for years without this silent issue occuring before)

so... i dialled my landline from my mobile and left a voicemail

as usual told i have a new message. playback still silent

Thanks for coming back to us alphabetagaga, and thanks for confirming the status of the voicemail services, built into the handset.

Check out the envelope in the top right hand corner for a private message from me and I'll work to have this resolved with our team.

      Thanks,

      David_Bn
