Turn VOIP Off & On again

Hello Peeps,       Please can you guide me to an easy fix to turn VOIP Off & On again.
We use to unplug the landline to stop spam calls disturbing the dogs / me when I'd worked nights easy one plug in the hall.   Now on voip lead is behind hub bottom shelf of a low table so un plugging is awkward getting plug back in is a major pain as I'm now arthritic I can talk to hub from laptop but is there a code you can dial like turning voice mail on and off?

Think short extension will be the fix, may have some now ancient fax line links that may be the same  -   Thanks for giving me food for thought.

  • Hi kramt,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.

I have taken a look into this for you and sadly we don't have a 'Off & On' function for this.

Thanks for your time - I had seen in other posts where peoples voip lines were shown as disabled - not sure where and it ended up coming back enabled on its own?!?!
Don't know here he was seeing this flag.

You can buy handsets very cheaply that enable you to turn off the ‘ringer’.

Use a short telephone extension lead from the adapter on the back of the hub and connect your phone to the end of the extension lead. When you want to unplug, do so from the extension lead which you can pull up to an accessible height.

Alternatively, but at greater cost, consider getting some cordless telephones. The cordless base station plugs into the VM hub and you use cordless handsets around the home as required. A modern cordless system is likely to have various call control features, one of which may be a 'do not disturb' feature which keeps the phones silent during pre-programmed times of the day or you can manually silence the handsets. Check the spec's to find a system that suits your needs.
