Nuisance calls!

I am chatting on behalf of my very elderly mother-in-law. She gets numerous nuisance telephone calls most days on her landline. She has already registered with the TPS. Virgin have suggested a caller reject service costing £2.70 a month. Before signing up for this I need to understand what is involved. My main concern is that a 92 year-old lady will not be able to cope with the system. Does anybody have any experience of how this works? Thanks in advance.

Anonymous caller rejection blocks any withheld numbers. It is indiscriminate though and it also blocks calls from certain legitimate medical services who choose to withhold their number so it is unsuitable for many (particularly the elderly who may receive many health-related calls).

Scammers routinely use a fake caller ID so anonymous caller rejection will do nothing to fix incoming scam calls in most cases. It is the only thing VM offers though in this regard.

See my recent post below regarding the trueCall device.

trueCall also offer remote administration of the device via a web subscription so it is possible to see calls in/out of the device and apply some remote configuration.
