Nuisance calls regarding contract expiry

Hi. I’m getting inundated with calls from what are claiming to be virgin media saying my contract will expire soon and wanting to give me the best deal. I’m not interested and still have months left on my contract. I’ve asked them many times to stop calling but still the call. I’ve now updated my marketing preferences but that says it takes a month to apply (which is ridiculous). Numbers are 0800 052 7551 and 0800 052 8675.   I raised a complaint with Virgin about this but they have said these are not their numbers. I find this a strange comment as there are many complaints in this community about being hassled by these numbers and in some of those, Virgin representatives have apologised as a reply and confirmed these are their number!  Something very dodgy going on here. Can someone elaborate and confirm if these are Virgin numbers. If so then Virgin are lying to me in my complaint!. Thanks in advance.

  • register with the TPS, sadly this also takes like a month, any cold calls from the UK would then be classed as cold contact and illegal, so advise them of this and report them

    We're very sorry to hear about the calls you have been receiving. 

    Our outbound numbers shown for calls can differ and so it maybe the agent was unaware of those specific numbers. 

    From what you have advised that does sound like it could be a legimate number of ours. What I will do is private message you now so we can check the account for any notes regarding those calls.
