Landlines can't receive calls

Hi, we recently switched over our broadband and home phone to virgin media from plusnet. We have no issues with our broadband but unfortunately we are with our home phone. We can make calls but cannot receive calls when the phone line is plugged into the back of our router. However, we we plug the phone into the old box on the wall, then we can receive calls. Not sure if it should remain being plugged into the wall socket or if it actually should go through the router. I must note that we still have a original phone line and have not yet moved over to digital.

Did you request a number port of your existing phone number from Plusnet to VM?

  • Thank you for informing us of this Rossiter6780 and we're sorry to hear about the issues you're having with your landline.

As you have stated that you have not completed the digital switchover, we recommend that you plug in your landline the old fashioned way as this is how the landline functions traditionally.

Once you complete the digital switchover, you would then need to plug it into the router with an adapter you can acquire from us.

If you need further assistance with this, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're more than happy to help 🙂
