Landline queries

I have a couple of queries re new landline added to existing broadband. (1) how to set up answerphone and (2) how to make sure the number is ex-directory? Can anyone help with these - would be great if so

Ex directory can be set up by the Forum Team here.

Answerphone? Do you mean you have an answerphone that you want to plug into the line, or do you mean you need help setting set up the Virgin Voicemail feature on the line?

      Hi PatDurban,

Thanks for posting, and welcome to our community 😊

We can add our own voicemail service for you, free of charge. If you have your own answer service you want to use, we can't assist with that.

As nodrogd has advised, we can set up ex-directory for you here.

Thanks very much I would like to set up ex-directory.

answerphone I was thinking of 1571 which I set but I can’t alter the number of rings before message kicks in and it must be a very high number if it’s even working

Hey PatDurban, thank you for reaching out and for your question.

You can set this up and change a lot of settings via your online account.

Any issues do let us know

Thanks what details would you need to set up ex-directory service and where do I send them?

Re voicemail, I dialled 1571 to set up service and that is active but answerphone is not kicking in, the phone just rings and rings. I can’t find an option to change the number of rings.

        Hi PatDurban,

So I can help with setting up ex-directory and checking your voicemail I've popped you over a private message.
