Landline not working

I believe since around Friday my landline stopped working.  I don't hear any dial tone when I try picking up the phone.  And if I tru to call the land line from my mobile I get "it's not possible to connect your call".  I've tried un plugging the phone like, turning the power off and on again.  Any ideas?
