Landline not working

Landline stopped working a couple of days ago. It was working perfectly fine and then just stopped. Try to make calls and it goes through the process, but then makes a noise like the phone's engaged. Have tried calling landline from mobile and get the same noises. I've taken the cable out of the hub and unplugged from socket, then reinserted both, but this makes no difference. Website says there are no problems in the area. I'm expecting a call from my doctor and need the phone up and running! I'm paying for this service.

    Hi t-c-w thanks for posting and welcome back to our community.

    Sorry to hear that your landline is not currently working for you.  Just to double check.  Is your adapter plugged into the correct socket at the back of your hub, as per here? Have you got another handset you can test?
