Landline dead tone all week.

My landline has been down all week with no dial tone and unable to use anytime calls. I have an engineer booked tomorrow between 8 and 12. I’m still on the old landline and wondering if it’s anything to do with the digital voip switchover I’ve never had an email or anything in the post. I’d expect a bill credit for a week without any landline.
