How can I keep my landline number?

Hi, I have received a txt from VM saying that my landline number is going to change even though I requested to keep my old one. its originally a VM media number, so I can't see why it needs to change. My new kit arrives tomorrow and I would really like to know how to keep this number, we've had this number since it changed from telewest. I have tried using the chat bot, and im just getting nowhere and have no clue what number to call for help.

    What else has changed to prompt the change of number?
