Check phone line

My landline is completely dead 

Status check says it is ok unplugged phone and plugged another one in still dead.

tried calling had to do security on the phone eventually someone answered and had to do security again he tried to do test but his computer was buffering for a long time and eventually he received a message to pass me to someone else, a second line something this after along wait transferred me to f foreign call centre and they told me I had to do security again by this time I had had enough and needed to go out so I hung up. Can anyone get my landline fixed for me
