back up phone, how to use it?

a few years ago when renewing my vm contract, as a vunerable customer I asked about a back up battery pack, I was actually sent a large landline phone,

yesterdays powercuts that shut the whole town down including the mobile sector so unable to use landline or mobile then remembered back up phone and realised I have no idea on using it,

there is an option to plug phone into the router but as router was down I wondered how does it work,

can somebody advise me on how to use the back up landline in case of a power cut please?

all help and advice appreciated

  • Hi conrail1

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your concerns with how the EBUL backup battery phone works.

Do you have this all set up and connected to your Virgin Media service? You can find out more on how this works here, should you need.

thank you for your reply, nothing set up, just received the handset in a box and plugged it in. there was no other information, read your link and I may be missing something but I cannot find information on setting backup phone to sysytem, I assume I just plug it into the router during a powercut and I can make calls????

Thanks for coming back to us conrail1. I'd be happy to take a further look into this for you to see what the setup is listed on your account to make sure that all you need to do is just plug it in and it works,  however I would need to confirm a few details via private message, please look out for my message and we can get started.
        Kind Regards,

You have an EBUL V3. You plug it into the hub (if an adapter cable is needed it should have been supplied) and you must connect it to an electrical socket (so the battery remains charged). In the event of a power or network outage the SIM card in the phone will enable you to make calls.

HAVING TO HIJACK THIS TOPIC POST.

Having cancelled my services and am unable to make or start new topics for yrs on here as i have absolutly no idea how to start topics on here there is no option.

Anyways got a returns packaging, just big enough to put the hub in, it ios NOT i repeat NOT big enough to also put this phone inside it at all. So you will be needing to send me another returns packaging. For me to return this phone back (its the only thing i can think of that is Voip battery pack phone).

        Hi Manestream 👋.

Thanks for reaching back out to us, it is ok we have seen your post. We can assist you with returning the last bits of equipment, we would need to bring you in for a private message. Please look out for the envelope on the top right of your web browser or if you are using a mobile device, it will be located under your profile icon.

        Thanks.

  • I need another returns pack to send the Voip telephone. The one i just got will only allow for 1 item (the hub 3) to be packaged in. That has been packed and ready to return. It is impossible to fit both items in it, i tried.

You wanted the Hub 3 and the Voip battery pack<-- can only be the phone. Returning.

Will send once a returns pack comes through (although i do not know how long my virginmedia email will last for) since my services ended 23rd August.
