Tvgo app login attempt on iPad gives oops message

Trying to login to iPad iOS 18.4.1 on the tvgo app. After typing in the email username, it says  approx ‘oops can’t connection, try again in a few minutes’. Tried multiple times, uninstalled app, deregistered devices etc.

i have an iPhone iOS 18.4.1 on the same wireless and virgin network and it can use tvgo app fine.

looking through forums many people have longterm ongoing ‘oops…’ issues when attempting to login, which don’t seem to be resolved.

what is the solution? And why is it such an ongoing problem for so many people , just on iPads?

  • Hello jasr

Sorry to hear of the login issues experienced with TVGo, we appreciate you raising this via the forums.

From what you have advised and it working without issue on a different iPad you have it may be a settings issue with the iPad. If it was an account issue it wouldn't work on either, can you ensure the settings across both devices match. One to look out for that might be causing the issue is 'Private Address' this can periodically change the MAC address which can cause registration and access issues.

These can be changed via the devices settings.

      thanks for the reply.

It works fine on an iPhone.
      it doesn’t work on iPad.

this is the information I gleaned from other posts on the forum.

I compared the WiFi settings (for the same WiFi access point) as used on both devices and there is no difference in them.

the ‘private’ setting you mentioned, is ‘fixed’ on both devices.

i have tried turning off iCloud private relay, which is the only thing I could think of as being a possible issue, but that did not work either.

the ‘oops’ msg is instant on its appearance, after typing the login email.
The iPad and iPhone setup is afaik pretty much the same.

do you have any other suggestions? Is there a lot file anywhere that might shed some light?
      thanks
