Sky sports app issues

I have been watching the football on my iPad. The full first half was fine, and with my battery low, I turned off for half time and switched back on for the start of the second. 
however when I did, it wouldn’t work. It would only say apologies, we can’t load the page at the moment. 
other channels with play and work, just not any showing the football. 
it does however work on my iPhone, which is the same subscription.

 

I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, no success. This also happened last night with the football but worked once I reset the app.

    Sorry to hear of your concerns with the Sky Sports app. 

    We aren't able to assist with third-party app concerns; however, there may be members here who can offer help and support. 

    I would advise that if you haven't already, to also post on the Sky Community to see if they're able to offer further support.

  • I've had the exact same issue for the last 2 nights. Can watch matches on my Iphone, but not the Ipad, but other Sky Sports Chanels no problem. Same on screen message as OP. It's been fine up till a couple of days ago.

    Done all the usual stuff, deleting app, re-installing it, login to Sky Sports via the Virgin route etc.

    Tried different browsers, OS up to date etc.

    Any other suggestions please?

      Hey bobartist, thank you for reaching out and we are sorry to hear you cannot watch Sky Sports on your ipad.

      Have you gone over the device limit maybe?

      Is the ipad and the app on tis device fully updated?

        Having exactly the same issue so must be something bigger surely. I can watch everything live on app barring football which is odd

  • I've just come from the Sky Community having been been told somewhat unhelpfully that as I don't have a Sky account there's nothing they can do and I have to take this up with Virgin, even though several others (both Virgin and Sky customers) have picked up on my post there and reported the identical problem.

    So I'm reaching out to Virgin here. Do their (or Sky) engineers ever come on to these forums to check out issues and work on solutions - either directly, or in conjunction with each other?

    This was reported as an issue here in February, so surely someone in Virgin - or Sky- must have come up with an answer by now!

      Had the same issues all week. Only live football is affected. Golf, darts etc all ok. Very strange

        Also having exactly the same issues on my phone. It works at points during the day for sky sports football and main event, but as soon as a live game is on, it won’t let me watch.. anyone managed to get this resolved? 

  • I am having the same issue. I have done exactly the same as you. Can get any other live sport, but not football
