Sick of "maximum devices reached" using the same browser

It keeps telling me the computer or phone I am on, which is either my mobile, laptop or desktop, has not been registered. I have to "replace" a device every time I use Virgin TV Go. And then I soon run into the maximum devices reached limit and told I have to wait until the end of the month before I can continue to use it.

And the responses here are just "oh we'll reset it for you" rather than actually fix this blatantly pervasive issue!?

  • Hello charlesgoodwin,

Welcome back to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your TV GO application at the moment. Does your browser automatically reset your cache and cookies, when you close the browser down?

    Kind Regards,

  • No, Firefox does not have that setting enabled. My cookies, site data and cache currently take up 1.6Gb. I don't think I've ever cleared the cache on this computer or any of the computers I'm having this problem on - which is all of them.

Another possibility. Some kit nowadays uses MAC randomisation on WiFi connections. If this is turned on, then every time you use TV Go the device will be seen as a different one to the last time you used it. Make sure MAC randomisation is turned off.
