Hi Prkendrick1
Sorry to hear of the issues regarding content via the TV Go app and recordings, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums and welcome to the community.
We have help here and here for the TV Go service, some content can't be recorded due to copyright restrictions imposed by the content provider. These are in place to prevent copying and redistribution of copyrighted material.
This may be why you're not able to record movies to watch later, does it happen with other content?

A further update. I called VM yesterday to discuss my contract which is due to expire early July. I mentioned these issues and the fact a ticket was going to be raised by VM a few weeks ago. Unless these tickets are raised on a separate system, the person I spoke to said no ticket had been raised on my account. Says it all really. He very kindly raised a ticket yesterday. Let’s see if anything happens. At this rate there is a very good chance I would have left VM before this is resolved.

Is there any update please. I had missed a call from Virgin and they left a message saying the ticket was being closed but I still can’t download. How can this be closed down without a fix?

The issues that you're experiencing with your downloads have now been passed over to the app developers, we don't yet have an estimated time for the issues to be resolved.
We will be back in touch once we have further updates from the team.
Kind Regards,

I’ve given up and moving to Sky. I will however keep an eye on these pages to see if VM ever resolve this.

I have been unable to download anything that is downloadable on the virgin on the go app for the past month. I have been not been able to sort this out with virgin despite numerous phone calls and 2 complaints.
Today I finally got through to the technical department and was told by a technician called Jaran that the virgin on the go app has recently been upgraded by virgin media. As a result of this upgrade they have removed the facility allowing programmes/ films etc to be downloaded to watch offline later.
I asked to be put through to the section to terminate my contract but was told I would be subject to early penalty charge. I pointed out to them that as they had broken the original terms of the contract by removing a service I had paid for surely this fee should be overridden. Basically I got nowhere and the assistant said she would transfer me to another technician. What is the point if virgin have removed the download option to everything.I submitted a complaint outlining the above. I received a phone call from virgin at 16.00 hours today. My phone was next to me and it rang once before they disconnected the call. Unfortunately I was not fast enough to answer it on the first ring.
I then received an email telling me to uninstall app etc and stated my complaint was now resolved. They have just ignored all the questions I have raised regarding my contract.
I have lost the will to live with virgin and will be taking advice and this complaint further. The only reason I had sky cinema was so I could watch films on planes and in other countries via virgin on go app.
I shall be returning to sky as soon as financially possible

I have exact same problem. When is this going to be fixed?

Just want to add myself to the list of people struggling with downloads on the TV Go app. I don't mean downloading recordings directly from my V6 box through TV Control, but from the app which provides streaming and (allegedly) offline content.
Programmes that have a download symbol available either show as "not available" when you click to download, or appear to download successfully from the series screen, but when you go to the downloads area, they briefly show as "available for 30 days", and then all switch to "not available", sometimes before you've had a chance to try playing them. I'm downloading to a Galaxy Tab S6.
A few days ago I did successfully download and watch some shows from Sky History. Today I tried the next show from in the series and it started to download (or at least the progress bar increased) then failed after a few seconds without any meaningful error message other than that the download is "not available".
I wonder whether the parental controls are also an issue. Sometimes it's needed and sometimes not, for the same programme. But sometimes it will try to stream or download without asking for one at all and then the app just crashes. (It would be nice to switch this feature off completely on the app, but it seems impossible.)
All a big mess unfortunately.

Hi 13geckotoes
I am sorry to hear you are also having some issues with TV GO.
This has been raised internally to the relevant teams who are investigating this.
We will pop an update here as soon as we have it.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience that may be caused in the meantime.

I’m also having the same problem and my Volt package was only installed and went live yesterday. Tried to download Maverick to my IPad but would not download (It only gives me the UHD option in searches) however it will stream but not download.

Hi Andybassa,
Thank you for posting to us here on the Community.
We are sorry to hear you have not been able to download the Movie. As advised within the thread, UHD movies are not available to download but you will be able to view this via the app when connected.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
- AndybassaOn our wavelength
I understand that however it will only show UHD movies when you search so therefore cannot download. The system should be able to show the standard HD version for download based on your subscription.

New member of the forum. I’m having (and have had for months now) exactly the same issue as the others are reporting on this thread. I have iPhone 11Pro running iOS 16.5.1 and have Virgin tv go 4.34.4 installed. Have tried downloading several films to watch offline (top gun maverick, Babylon, black Adam, high heat, simulant) and get exactly the same error as everyone else is reporting.
this is not an isolated issue, it is happening widespread. I only found this thread after getting frustrated (again) at not being able to download ahead of long journeys where being able to watch offline would have been very useful. As others have said, we pay a small fortune for this service and are not getting what we are paying for. Either fix the damn thing or admit that it doesn’t work and offer some sort of rebate. This thread started in April (APRIL **bleep**) and still not fixed nor anything offered. If I did that to my customers they would all have left my business by now and I’d be bankrupt.
do the right things guys and sort this out!thanks,
Unhappy bloke!

I’ll add my voice of complaint to this, doesn’t work now and has never worked for me. To be honest I’ve all but given up with Virgin’s service, I’ll be going back to Sky when my contract expires in November.
Latest version of iOS, latest version of the TV Go app (checked before posting this) and tried on multiple devices. Streaming works fine.
It really is ridiculous that this issue has affected so many (I assume many more who don’t bother to post) yet Virgin Media can’t issue a fix.
