Wired connection slower than Wi-Fi

I have hooked my new Fire TV Stick 4K Max via an OTG cable with a Uni USB 3.0 Hub.

I have Virgin 1 Gig broadband with a  Hub 4 acting as a modem which is connected to my Orbi router.

When I checked the Wi-Fi speed I was getting around 430mbps. When I hooked the USB hub via a cat 8 ethernet cable to the router it was achieving much less.

I know the Wi-Fi speed is great but I don't understand why it is slower with a wired connection.

Any help is appreciated.

    USB to ethernet adapters for Fire TV Sticks are 10/100 (100Mbps), not 1Gbps.

    What exact model of USB HUB are you using, and is it the HUB that has an ethernet port integrated?

    Out of curiosity I decided to test the speeds directly from the Hub 4.
    I disconnected the Orbi mesh router and reset the Hub 4.
    I connected my Windows 11 laptop directly into the hub using a 1Gbps ethernet/USB c adapter with a Cat 8 cable.

    I ran the Samknows RealSpeed test and got the following results:
    Again the wired connection is much slower than wifi.

    Do you guys think there is something amiss here?

    Welcome to the community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums.
    I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your connection at the moment, I have been looking into this on our system and can see that there is an issue with the SNR levels of your connection that is the likely cause of the issues that you're having, we would need to send out a technician to have the problem resolved.  I can arrange the appointment from here but would need to confirm a few details via a private message, that I will drop over in a moment.     Was there ever a resolution to this?  I'm having exactly the same issue.  Have 1GB broadband, firestick hard wired to hub with 1gb ethernet cable and OTG and getting 66mb on the firestick speed test within the network area of settings.
