Slow upload speeds on Virgin 1Gb

Switched from BT to Virgin 1Gig a few months ago. Upload speeds used to be between 80-90Mbps, download between 300-600Mbps.

Starting last week, upload speeds are now 2-5 Mpbs. Download speeds unchanged. Have restarted router, checked cables, all seems as it was before the slowdown.

Please help, Virgin!

Try checking with Area faults on 0800 561 0061 or if you have a VM landline 150 as small local faults are not listed on the VM status page.

Post the power levels, Pre and PostRS errors and network log from the Hub.

Run the FULL tests on this site and post the result  www.samknows.com/realspeed

Setup a BQM to monitor your circuit www.thinkbroadband.com/ping

    Once done we can comment.

Hi - thanks. The problem seems to be fixed now, after a message from Virgin.

Re. Samknows - it says it can't recognise my modem. FYI I'm using the Virgin Hub 5 as a modem, then a Mercusys AX3000 router for Mesh WiFi

Re. BQM - set this up but I'm getting a solid redline graph - looks like the pings are blocked by Virgin

      Thanks

SamKnows does not work when the hub is in modem mode.

  • Hi Alex391 ๐Ÿ‘‹.

Thanks for reaching out to us, and welcome to the Community Forums. Apologies for the issues that you have been having with your speeds. Could you please run diagnostics on the Hub and perform some tests with the Hub in router mode removing all third party Hubs and post the results so that we can see how it is performing.
