Very slow upload speed

Hi,

I ran a speed test last night after having issues playing online games and found that while my download speed is normal, my upload speed is 0.1 Mbps. I believe this has been the case since at least Monday evening as I was experiencing issues then too but didn't think to run the speed test at the time.

I'm in CF24 if that helps.

I have run the SamKnows RealSpeed test, here are the results.

Can you confirm if there's a known issue, and if so when it's likely to be fixed?

  • Try checking with Area faults on 0800 561 0061 or if you have a VM landline 150 as small local faults are not listed on the VM status page.

      Thanks for that, the 0800 number does indeed report a fault in my area and that engineers are working on it.

      However I just ran another speed test and got 26Mbps upload so I think the fault may be fixed, for me at least.

  • I spoke too soon, my upload bandwidth has dropped back to the previous low speed. The 0800 number is still reporting that engineers are working on the issue as of this morning.

      I have checked our systems and there is a Signal to Noise (SNR) outage currently impacted your area.

      You might find that your Virgin Fibre, Voice and Virgin TV services are intermittent, with the picture freezing or disappearing now and then. 

      The estimated time of fix is 31 JAN 2024 12:00. We are sorry and our engineers are working hard to resolve this for you.
