How Do We Log speed issues?
paid for faster broadband and it's just pants. how do we log it every time? do we have to phone up every time for it to be logged? i pay for 500mb and im getting less than 100 on average

No speed hotline. You can run the “official” test at Samknows Realspeed. This must be with a wired device. The VM guarantee for WiFi is 30mb.
Seeing about 90Mb/s is typical for a wired network device connected at 100Mb/s or one that has de-rated to 100Mb/s due to a network cable fault, or due to use of a 10/100 network switch or a 10/100 Powerline or USB adaptor.
Seeing less that 60Mb/s on Wi-Fi is typical for devices connected on the longer range but slower 2.4GHz band.

Technically you are getting what you pay for, which is your subscription to the HUB over the VM network.
Further troubleshooting on your side is required to determine if your devices are capable of faster speeds, keeping in mind the '549Mbps' is shared across multiple devices at the same time.

Due to he scant information, all one can say is this is a slow connection between the computer and the Hub. Not a VM service fault. One for the poster to resolve.
Some devices, 2/3 mobiles uses the wifi, the computer that speed test was taken from is through an Ethernet through a TP Link network extender.
TV's are connect but non were on at time of test and probably 2 phones connected at time of test.
I can't see how there is such a reduction in the output from the hub.
I've had virgin before with the same 'set up' and had better speeds when i only had 100mb package. (older HUB)Don't use a TP Link network extender and see what you get
The Device speed test is showing the speed of the TP Link extenders in your home.
Not what is possible from the Hub.i've had virgin before, due to them not offering me a 'new customer deal' i 'left' and came back. The TP extender has performed fine previously and with my old 250mb package i would get 100-150 to my devices continually.
Since the 'new install' and new equipment i am getting less than 100 and the broad band speed i pay for is twice as much. nothing other than my contract/virgin equipment has changed.
Your Hub is connected at 549Mb/s,
so you are not being short changed.
Which TP Link products do you have ( model numbers ).
Check both ends are actually connected at 1Gb/s. Do not just assume the PLAs are working ok.
Network cable degrade and speeds fall back to 100Mb/s which could account for what you see at the computer now.an Av600 bud. like i said on my 'old contract' (half the 'speed) would get well in excess of 100mb/s and now my speed has doubled and im getting less at my devices? bit of a con really isn't it?

You're getting what you pay for. What you connect to it is your business, not VM's.
so if i connect direct into the router i should get 500mb/s???
No good sending 500mb to a hub if there is now way of utilising that 500 mb/s is there. seems the hubs are absolute dog [MOD EDIT: Language]So what was the out come of direct into the hub?

The TP-Link AV600 Powerline Adaptors all have 10/100 Mb/s network ports.
The claim of seeing 100 to 150Mb/s before was either not over the AV600 system or fictitious.I won't be charged. the call out was their decision based on information they had from their end.
So the maximum of the ethernet cable via the TP link is 100mb/s and i said i have experienced 100 mb/s but some how this is 'fictitious' ?
