2 gbps symmetrical

Hi anyone from Virgin Media can help me upgrade to 2gbps symmertrical, some of my close has it, but we are still on coax.

Willing to pay to have the fibre cable installed if that's possible.

Thanks

John

You wouldn't want that hub 5x it messes up your ping

Ping when VM run their auto speed tests.

  • Hi John345

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear we've not extended our symmetrical service to your property yet.

We are working to expand this new network to all customers. Once we're able to provide this, we'll be inviting customers via marketing email to see if they're interested in upgrading. Ensure your marketing preferences are up to date with your preferred method of contact.

To update your marketing preferences from your online account, click on Account settings > Marketing preferences > Edit my preferences. If you switch this off, it will stop any calls, emails and addressed marketing.

  • Hi, thanks for the reply, I'm not a customer at the moment tho

Most of the street I live in can get 2gbps symmetrical

    Thanks

    John

Is anyone in your street connected to the new fibre network? If so I think you'll find that they are new customers as VM still isn't ready to migrate existing customers like you.

Hi John345, if you're not a customer as of yet, we would not be in a position to offer our assistance we would only be able to support active connections that are subject to technical faults or account admin issues.

Please give our Sales team a call to discuss a new connection with Virgin Media further - 0800 183 1234

        Thanks,

  • Their internal systems are still unable to handle providing full fibre to properties that have had coax in the past. I imagine the homes that have full fibre didn't have any VM services in the past.

At some point they'll fix it and release properly.
