No wall outlet fitted during install

I'm really happy with my new Virgin Media Broadband service and the install in general but I'm wondering why no wall socket was fitted? I've received a Hub 5x on the M250 package. The fibre cable from the outside box enters through a hole and goes into a coupler from which a second fibre optic cable fitted into hub 5x. The housing of the connector appears to be designed to be clipped into a standard Virgin Media wall socket outlet.

Is it possible to obtain one of these wall sockets? I don't mind fitting it myself.

AFAIK the Hub 5x is connected directly to the fibre and doesn’t use a wall socket like the old co-ax ones.  The outside/inside connection box is the standard for fibre.

Yes, the above wall socket is exactly what I was referring to. I contacted the installer because he had left me his mobile number and he has dropped one of these sockets off so I can fit it myself so I'm sorted.

Standard practice has been to install an internal termination box. Can you post a photo of this coupler.

  • Hello wilyearthworm,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. Please can you send over a picture of the coupler that you're referring to and we can get this looked into further.

  • Hi. Sorry, I wasn't getting notifications of replies. The original installer who set me up has now dropped off the item I was referring to. Someone posted a picture of it above. I'm going to fit it to the wall myself. No problem.
