New Hub 5 Arrived - Do I Have To Use It?

So I just signed up to a new M125 contract, not a great deal TBH, and still in the 14 days cooling-off period.

It was insisted upon that I take a Hub 5 with the new contract. Can anyone tell me if I have to use it? I currently have a 2ac, and it's been fine for the most part. More importantly - I have read that the Hub 5 consumes quite a bit more power than the 2ac. If that's the case, I definitely don't want to use it. I'm increasingly struggling financially, and economising wherever I can.

Thanks!

You really should upgrade as the SH2AC is now out of support and a bit of a museum piece.  I would really doubt if the power difference is that bigger ?  You could always switch the Hub off when not in use.

If they have sent you new Hub the old one will likely be disconnected very soon.

  • Wish I could have a Hub5.

Recently switched to M250 and I got a 15 year old heavily used Hub 3 that's falling apart.

Man I wish VM was a fair trade organisation, Giving some people old goods and others brand new modems, some people paying £120 for a package while others pay £80 for the same package. Such an unfair trading organisation. :(

    I want a hub 5 too

Going from a SH2AC will not use more power
