Long wait for installation – any chance to move it earlier?

Hi everyone,

 

Just wondering if anyone here experienced something similar. I placed my Virgin Media order last Feb 20, and I was told the installation is scheduled for April 2. That’s like, more than a month of waiting.

 

I really need the internet for work (WFH life), and the delay is starting to cause problems for me. I was hoping to get connected way earlier than this.

 

Is there any way to request for an earlier install date? Maybe someone cancelled or there’s an earlier slot available?

 

Would appreciate any advice or help from the mods or other users who’ve gone through this. Salamat in advance!

    you can ask here - staff will look at the thread in a few days or you can ring and they may well be able to bring the date forward but thats just a guess as to when it MIGHT happen as any earlier date will be - they will do whatever it takes to keep you onboard even though what they say is BS and lies

    there a 101 reasons the install may not happen at the date you have or many dates they pluck out of the air after that - its how VM installs work - no plan and as and when

    there are threads on here where it took 18 months from start to finish to get the install done - there are other threads where after months of delay VM walked away from the install

    in all delayed installs compensation is due but that not what you want i guess just working internet

    but on the bright side it may happen when they say - if it does - great - if not dont cancel the installation let in drift into the future and claim your compensation - if you cancel all work stops and you are back at square one if you decide to try again in the future

    thats bleak but its as it is - wait for their new date - if that gets pushed back look at temp alternatives or look now as nothing is guaranteed with VM and whilst you will get 100% firm dates and promises they are totally meaningless
