Earlier install text

Hello

Having signed my Dad up for Virgin Media with an installation in April, the next day I get a text from "Virgin Media" with "Great news!" as they can offer an earlier install date for a 50 pound bill credit, which I've agreed to by 'YES' and '1pm to 6pm'. 

The scheduled installation is still the original date though, so is this a scam and if so how have Virgin Media leaked my contact details with all the installation date details, etc?

Very worrying.
