Installation Refused

Hi,

I was wondering whether anyone has experienced this.

About to move into my new home. This street only has access to Virgin Media. Checked on multiple comparison sites and checked with neighbours and all have Virgin, this road doesn’t offer anything else.

Brought a broadband and tv package at the beginning of October. Engineer was meant to come a couple of times but didn’t turn up when they agreed to but have been to the property as there is a mark on the driveway.

Spoke to a team to confirm that the engineer was still booked for installation at the end of November to say that they have cancelled the package! Apparently it’s too over budget for them to in stall but all of this road has it!

They have also said they got in touch with the council to try and get the network extended but it’s too expensive for them to do that.

Really unimpressed with Virgin as they didn’t bother to tell me any of this but not sure what else to do as no other provider is available on our road.

Virginmedia are not required to connect anyone. They will only do it if they can make a profit, so they can ignore you if it is going to be too expensive to install.

Is there no service at all in your road from Openreach/BT ? They do have a universal service requirement.  How about 5G from EE or 3?

  • Hey Georgia4444, thank you for reaching out and we are sorry to hear about this install issue.

Sometimes and it is very unfortunate we cannot do an install due to reasons like this.

However in the near future we may change this.
