Hub installation

So I’m getting virgin media internet installed soon. All the external work is done on my house so I’m just waiting for the engineer to come out.

My question is, when the engineer comes to install will I be able to select which room and where in the room for my new hub to be installed?

The external work all the cables were set up to the front of my house but the room I want the new installation is round the side of my house.

Thanks in advance

Providing there are no access problems they will install the Hub where you want it.

      Tuning in

Does the distance matter? I have the same situation where my brown box is on the front of my house and I want the hub round the back of my house

        Hi Paul4357,

Welcome to our service and thank you for your query. Generally, the team will aim to set the router up in the requested room unless it is technically not possible. Please let us know how the installation goes and if you need any further help.

        Thanks,

    On our wavelength

Its is up to you where you want the hub, within reason but , I had this same thought.

I decided to leave the hub by the entry point, front corner of the house. Why......so I dont have a ugly cable stretching round my house nailed into the wall. But thats just me.

I just use it in modem mode with a good asus mesh system so my hub is hidden out of sight neatly but just a thought before you decided.

  • I have almost the exact same situation and same questions. The engineer is due to be round mine on 21st jan so I guess I’ll find out then
