Full Fibre available in my street and to my neighbors but not my house

I live in an attached house on a busy street with 3 other houses, opposite us are houses up and down the street.
Nearly all of the properties up/down the street on both sides of the road have access to Full Fibre according to VMs postcode checker. But my house does not.

I have called several times and been told rubbish like 'it will be installed in 6 months' to 'it will be installed in 2 years', its been made clear each time I called that nobody has any idea and they're just making up a number to get me off the phone.

I've spoken to residents of my town and found out that apparently VM did indeed lay cables near my house, but never connected them so apparently the infrastructure is already there.
Even if it is not, its not exactly fair that all the houses in the street can be connected but we cant. The house next door, not even 15ft away, is connected!
Can anyone tell me who I need to contact to get this rectified?

Call VM Sales on 0800 183 1234 and explain the situation as you have on here.

      Hi Alex,
I’m experiencing the exact same issue. I’ve contacted customer service three times about this, but I keep receiving unhelpful answers. My entire street is connected, but for some reason, my house has been missed. I’ve filled out forms for engineers to come out, but I’m still not getting anywhere, which is really frustrating. The infrastructure is in place as the cables are already installed. I’d really appreciate any help in getting this resolved. Thanks

  • Hi Alex
I am also experiencing a similar issue. 3 of 30 houses in street are not showing as available on postcode checker. Happy to pay towards installation. I have phoned and was told sorry and dismissed at start of call. Next door neighbour has it installed and so do other homes who share a driveway. I really would appreciate some help.

      Hi tainbow678

      Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear that you're property is currently unserviceable. There would be a reason that the property is unserviceable at this time. If there has been a 'spotter' or 'site surveyor' recently who has determined the property as unserviceable, then this would be the status of the property until any further expansion or improvement works are done on the road. Have you spoken with our pre-installation team on 0800 183 1234? They'll be able to advise if it can be raised for someone to investigate serviceability.

Also, it's important to know if you're the leaseholder or freeholder of the property. If not, any additional works would need wayleave permissions. If this is rejected, then we wouldn't be able to complete the installation work.

  • Thanks for you response. We own the freehold of the property and we are one of the 3 houses out of 30 in the cul de sac which missed  the installation many years back. Our neighbour’s will also be quite willing to have it installed. Our other neighbour can have it as the cable is next to their home.

I will telephone number you have provided. I really appreciate your help.
