Flashing red light on box on wall

So I contacted Virgin on Saturday as the white box on the wall has started to flash red. They ran some tests and said we had connectivity issues and they'd solve it within 24hours or we would get an engineer appointment....we received nothing!

I phoned them again today, the lady insisted it is my hub that is faulty and needs replacing, even though I told her several times the hub is fine and the red light is flashing on the white box on the wall, not the hub!

She is sending me out a new one anyways

Can anyone help at all?

Thank you so much!

Never seen that before.  Are you in the R.O.I. - where all the VM kit is different to that we have here in the UK?

I would imagine the fault is in the incoming circuit.  That looks very like my BT ONT, but a VM version for Fibre to Cable.  I doubt if a new Hub will sort it out.  Can you post the stats from the Hub to see if there are problems on your circuit.

  • Hi, a second engineer came out. When I had the broadband installed originally approx 1 month ago  the engineer used an older version of the white box on the wall. Also he didn’t connect a second box which I think if memory is correct an isolated “thing”. Basically wrong install now corrected by installing up-to date white box which is flush with the wall and installing the isolator. The light is now green.
