Exposed VM cables in front garden

I just moved into a new house and I see there is a VM box and some exposed cables. It doesn't look like broadband though, telephone and TV?

Could someone please tell me if this box serves a purpose. And also, could you please send someone to bury the cabling?

  • Hi Kath_P

Thanks for getting back to me.

I am not a customer, I just moved into this house and the cables in the front yard are bothering me and sticking over onto my neighbours' driveway. I would like them buried properly please.

I will only be deciding if I am signing up for TV in a few months and I already have fibre from another company. So I am not looking to sign up now, but the VM infrastructure can stay in place in case I (or a future tenant) wishes to use it.

I only see cables for phone and TV going into the house, not sure where the VM broadband connections are.

    Thanks again.

Yes, that's a VM Omnibox on the wall, so the cable is for BB, TV and phone.  If you are a customer, you can get an engineer to bury the cable.  If you are not a customer, it will prove more difficult as you don't have any account details to get to CS.

Just wait here a day or two for a VM Mod to pick this up and discuss with you.

        Hi CornelisC,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

As mentioned above, the cable will service Broadband, TV and Landline 😊

Can you please confirm if you're an existing Virgin Media customer, or whether you have any plans to become a customer?

Let us know so we can advise further.

        Many thanks,
