That wall was already crumbling, so I don't see how VM is to blame for movement of some bricks.

This is routine VM behaviour in property damage topics on here, which typically describe communication-only happening over a long period of time but no actual damage repairs taking place.

If you think you have a case that VM has damaged your wall, speak to Citizens Advice at this point on how to proceed. You have tried to engage with VM directly but have not been successful.

I would guess you might have to use a small claims process against VM for the cost of the repair but speak to Citizens Advice on what to do next.

I would also guess that VM will question the pre-existing condition of the wall, before any work started, as part of any defence they might put forward.

If you have legal protection on your house insurance, speak to them. They will advise what to do and whether your insurance covers legal costs. The issue you may face is proving the wall was sound before the installation.

VM's answer to any sort of problem is to ignore, ignore, delay, delay until you give up and go away

You asked this on a separate topic. All you can do is make your builders aware of the cable when they are working. They might be able to cut a slot into the path for you and cover the cable over properly with mortar.

What you have at the moment is a VM bodge where the cable is pressed into an existing gap in the concrete and covered over with some quick-setting mortar. The lifespan of the work using that method will be short.
