Can no longer split 2.4 and 5 Ghz

I set up the hub with A at 5 Ghz, B at 2.4 Ghz and Guest at 2.4 Ghz

I have "lost" A and B is 2.4 and 5 Ghz

I can no longer find the option to split them. Has VM removed the option in the hub or have i just forgotten how to do it?

I had them split the other day and did nothing.

VM don't want you to do this you should look at getting your own router with 1Gb ports and put hub in modem mode

    Hi Andyjenk3

Open a browser and log into your hub 192.168.0.1 - using the SSID and wifi settings password printed on a sticker on your hub (unless you've set up a different SSID and password.)

Then navigate to the following settings

Advanced Settings > Wireless > Wireless Signal > click on Disable Channel Optimization  at the bottom then  click on Apply Changes.

Now go to Advanced Settings > Wireless > Security >  then amend the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi Network Name (SSID) to whatever you want, and the apssword if you want to change that.  Then at the bottom click on Apply Changes. Then log out of the hub at the top of the page.

You will need to reconnect all you Wi-Fi devices some will want to connect to 5Ghz and some to 2.4GHz and some will connect to either.

  • Does this instruction still apply today with a Hub 5?

I am a complete novice but following a call with VM I have been told to separate my bandwidths.

This is to enable a cctv camera which operates at 2.4 to work. I need to set up a new connection for this.  Before I venture into the realms of adjusting the Hub I wanted to check if the above instructions are still okay and current?

    Many thanks.

      •    Access your Hub by navigating to 192.168.0.1
      •    Login with the default login info (on base of Hub) unless you've already updated it.
      •    Go to Advanced Settings > Wireless > Security
      •    Disable the Smart Optimisation on the wifi bands.
      •    Under Wireless Frequency 2.4GHz change the Wifi Network Name (SSID), suggest append _2 to the end.
      •    Repeat for the Wireless Frequency 5GHz, suggest append _5 to the end and click on Apply changes
      •    Try to avoid spaces and periods in the SSID names as they can cause issues with certain devices.

Once you have re-split the SSIDs  ...

    DO NOT
install the VM Connect app on any of your devices
or the SSIDs will be re-merged without warning.
