Can I simply upgrade to 1g while on M500

I should have gone with Gig1 when I signed up, but I couldn’t justify the extra fiver at the time. Now I see the speed on M500 is fine—would upgrading to 900Mb be worth the extra £5?

I don’t want to get an O2 SIM, as I have bad debt with them and probably wouldn’t pass their credit check anyway.

So, I was planning to just pay the extra £5 for the 2-year contract, then try to get a deal or leave Virgin.

My activation date was only yesterday. If I run into financial difficulties, can I downgrade during the contract? They seem to allow upgrades easily, but I haven’t seen much info about downgrading.

    You likely do not need the speed if you did you would know? what do you hope the extra speed will do for you?

    Gig1 would also double your upload speeds to about 104Mbps. This matters to some, but does it apply to you?

    If you really needed the higher speed you would know about it. I suspect you don't. 

    You can't downgrade during a contract. They don't allow it.
